New Model College, Mangkolemba celebrates Foundation Day on 20th April 2026

New Model College, Mangkolemba, Mokokchung, Nagaland celebrated its College Foundation Day on April 20, 2026. The ceremony was graced by Shri. Moakumzuk (NCS), ADC and Chairman of the College Advisory Board, who attended as the Special Guest. His presence, alongside several other distinguished members of the College Advisory Board, including Mr. Toshi Tzudir, Associate Pastor, MTBA and representative of the Mangkolemba Students’ Council underscored the strong institutional support the college enjoys.The program was chaired by Mrs. Thechano Kithan, Assistant Professor from the Department of Education. The session opened with an invocation and prayer for the college led by Mr. Toshi Tzudir, Associate Pastor of MTBA, followed by a welcome address from Dr. L.J. Neken Jamir, Vice Principal. Dr. Benjongkumba, Principal of the college shared an account of the college’s founding, reminding attendees of the vision that built the institution. A Special Number was presented by students of the 2nd and 4th semesters. One of the key highlights of the celebration was the official release of the college’s first annual magazine. The magazine was officially released by the ADC along with the Principal marking a significant achievement for the institution.Shri. Moakumzuk delivered an impactful speech, emphasizing the college’s role in the community’s development. In his address, the ADC congratulated the college for its progress and encouraged students to strive for excellence in both academics and personal development.He also mentioned that faculty and students alone cannot run the college and as such it is a collective responsibility for everyone involved from the community to the stakeholders to contribute for the growth and success of the college. Shri. Moakumzuk stressed the need for more students, along with co-curricular and skill-based activities besides regular classes for the overall development of the institution. He also encouraged the college authorities to introduce new streams in the near future to expand academic opportunities. Furthermore, he urged civil organizations and societies to actively support the institution by encouraging the children of Mangkolemba to enrol in the college.The ceremony moved toward its conclusion with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Khesheli Aye. The event officially ended with a benediction by Miss. Sentinangla Walling, after which guests and students gathered for light refreshments.
