NEW MODEL COLLEGE CELEBRATES 4th FRESHER’S DAY, 2026

Celebrating New Beginnings: The Fourth Freshers’ Day at New Model College
New Model College, Mangkolemba, gracefully celebrated its 4th Freshers’ Day on 3 July 2026. It was held under the theme “Western Style with 90s Touch,” to mark the beginning of an important new chapter in the lives of the freshers.
The formal session commenced with an invocation by Miss Rebecca Khiupur, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, followed by welcome address by Principal Dr. Benjongkumba. In his address, he expressed the quintessential idea of education as a social investment, affirming the students that academic success extends far beyond personal achievement and reminded that the true value of education lies in its capacity to benefit society. He also stressed the importance of education in serving the community and advised the freshers to strive for excellence by working diligently, with integrity and social responsibility. He called upon them to do more than just succeed on their own, but to be citizens with knowledge and character that would make a difference in the society.
The formal session further included presentations to the freshers by the seniors and an address by the fresher representative, Miss Temsurenla, Department of Political Science. This was followed by a musical performance and an introduction from the freshers. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Moarenba, 5th Semester Student, Department of Sociology.
The highlights of an informal session included performances by the Echo Forge Elite Band, an interactive question round, a performance by the 5th semester students, and the much-anticipated final walk of the contestants.
